What was Dracula doing in the bushes?/ Lucy's Sickness Scene cut?cene

double question:

First off, what's Dracula doing in the bushes as Mina is helping Lucy back up to the house after being attacked?

Second; I recently watched this for the first time in 2 years (I was finally sick of watching it after 1000 times since childhood) - I used to own this on VHS but gave it up when I got the special 2-disc set, so I ask, was there a slight cut/editing trick made ;

when Lucy is seducing Quincy (Campbell) into kissing her, i noticed that in this DVD that her breast was darkened and barely visible, as if the editors purposely darkened that one spot.

I am sure I remember there being a full shot of her breast popping out of her gown as she was trying to draw Quincy in closer; it's not a big deal but I think it's pretty retarded to blur/darken nudity for re-release in an R-rated movie, especially since it's part of the vampire's lure to use sexuality

my answer for your first question in my opinion is that Dracula was in shock that he just saw Mina. Plus I would assume he was frustrated because he didn't want Mina to see him for the first time for the blood-thirsty monster he can be.

Second, the DVD has DARK picture quality. I have the blu-ray and noticed that my copy was no where near as dark as the special edition dvd.

I have it on my special edition dvd and her breast on the left is completly showing.

I agree with Wonka that Dracula was shocked to see Mina, and didn't want her to see him as a monster. After he saw her the scene ended right away, and there may have been doubt whether or not Mina was sleepwalking. By showing the werewolf hiding in the bushes, it shows it wasn't just a dream, and it did happen.

While I agree with the statement above me, I think Dracula was stroking the salami due to not finishing with Lucy. The sounds he was making before the scene ends sure support this.

When the scene fades to black they should of had a narrator say "don't bust that nut! We will be right back!"

seriously! and Dracula IS a perverted tale... I'm sure Francis or maybe even Oldman himself threw that to sink in the sexual edge of the story
