Robin Givens over Halle Berry?

Why would anyone be sulking over Robin Givens when the gorgeous Halle Berry, playing a much nicer character, is available? Marcus must have had a thing go bitchy, stuck-up women, even though Berry is ten times hotter.

Robin Givens was exquisite in that movie. I just saw this on TV for the first time and I kept having to ask myself how it is that Halle Berry is looking so "annnhhhh." She was definitely cute, but Robin was, again, exquisite.

Of course, Halle didn't have a really sexy hairdo and her character didn't dress quite as snazzily. That helped make the difference between the two of them. I think Robin Givens is still very good-looking even today, though. And Halle is too. 

I saw the film again last night and I must admit Givens' character isn't as stuck-up or bitchy as I remember (even though Halle's is still the nicer person). In fact I was almost rooting for Givens' character because she was giving 'Marcus' a taste of his own medicine. The only point she crossed the line of fairness was when she started gossiping about 'Marcus' with the other office women, but until that point she was perfectly at liberty to keep things casual and make it clear to 'Marcus' that it was just about sex with them and nothing more.

I still prefer Halle though, although I agree that her mushroom-style hairdo wasn't her best look. She looks great with short hair but this particularly cut wasn't her most flattering. She looked better towards the end of the film where she had a more stylish hairdo.

Halle's character was meant to be a "Plain Jane" and "Girl Next Door" type. She looked good all the time. Robin looked stunning in the movie though.

Her hairdo was a Paige boy and it became all the rage for black women from about '91 to about '95. It was a much copied style back then. So, she wasn't out of style with the hair at the time.

Yep! I had this cut back in the day, but it was hard to take care of. I got compliments on it though.

Late response, but Halle had a short 'Paige Boy' cut in Strictly Business, 'Living Dolls' and The Flintstones, where she was arguably at her very hottest, and yet she looked much sexier in those films. In Boomerang she looked great (it's impossible for her not to look great), but it was more of a 'girl next door' type of beauty than a supermodel, va-va-voom type beauty, as per The Flintstones.

As an aside, I was probably too harsh on Robin Givens to begin with, although I still think Halle is hotter.

Everything about Robin just oozed sexyness. Halle did have appeal but it was more subtle. She was more "girl next door".

Sex appeal. And playing hard to get

Robin was hot in this movie. Halle was beautiful, but she wasn't meant to be the sexy temptress.

Halle looked average in this film because it was pre surgery (cheeks, nose,) Robin was STUNNING in this though. She really was hotter than Halle before Halle got surgery.

It was not because of surgery. Halle was absolutely gorgeous in Strictly Business just the year before; she was made to look plainer in Boomerang.
