True Story?

Can anyone give me more info on the true story this was based on??

the real dan saxon became a federal witness and no longer works in law enforcement. once some goes deep cover and becomes a witness, they are relocated to an unspecified part of the world. this actual story went down in the mid to late eighties. to learn more about the facts and figures on which biker gangs got busted, use the google search engine and type "biker gangs, meth factories" or" biker gangs and the dea"

I have been searching endlessly for some time for more information on this actual subject/movie. Is there or was there ever a real Dan Saxon?? Was there ever a book published?? I followed your instructions and found lots of sites, but it would take hours more to even locate or not on this actual investigation. Could anyone point me in the right direction, please?? I just finished reading the book Under and Alone which is to be made into a movie soon!

I found it very weird that in the end credits it stated that the real undercover cop was living in California with his wife and kids. I know that California is a big state but still.

I just saw a documentary on Hell's Angels on BBC, it was made in 2003. The story seem very similar to the one in this movie, but, I am not sure that's it.

yeah im pretty close to finishing this book called The Road to Hell by Julian Sher and this other dude.

its about the Hells Angels chapters in Canada. they talk about Dany Kane, the RCMP's informant who later became an agent source. very interesting reading. again, similar to this movie with all the drugs, prostitution, money laundering.

It's not reliable. William Queen's picture is on the Random House website, he was a Dept. of the Tresury agent for 20 years, and the events he is talking about in "Under and Alone" take place in 1998, and Queen received a medal in 2001 for it, which means there is no possible way that book has anything to do with this film, nor could he possibly be Dan Saxon. Perhaps the upcoming film has something to do with the book, but not this film from '92.

C'mon people, "based on a true story" means nothing! In a way, every movie is based on some kind of "true story". But all movies are scripted and shot, making them 100% fakes!

And aren't biker gangs a bit passé? I'm mean all that leather and all...makes me thing of a Brokeback Mountain kinda situation, know what I'm sayin'?

It is a true story but its very very loosely based. i have worked UC for awhile and some of the schools ive been to have talked about this case.this particular deal took place in the mid 70's not the 80's. and once someone goes deep cover and when they come out they usually wind up in some sort of therapy and alot of time off afterwards. one guy i worked with was deep and after he came out they found out who his momma was and tied and beat her to death almost.

Just because you have a fantasy of big biker guys on top of you or your husbands back dosent mean us real bikers are broke back guys.
get your mind out of the gutter

On the DVD it said something about a cop named Dan Black was the basis for the story. The writer or director (can't remember which) wanted to make the story into a movie after reading about it in an issue of Playboy where they interviewed Mr. Black. That's what I can remember from the stuff on the DVD hope it helps. Also if anyone can find out which issue it is let me know.

I've come across the name dan black quite a few times while digging into this film, it would be great to have his version of what happend but I believe it would be a lot darker and he would have to admit to some pretty *beep* stuff to tell the truth. I did find this story which i think has something to do with the film.

Actually he was a states witness for the State Attorney General's office, and it happened in 1975 in Northern California.

This movie is based on the life of Rick DeLuca, who was an undercover cop prior to becoming a real estate mogul. I just heard this guy speak at a sales seminar where he stated this movie was based on his life. He was undercover with the motorcycle gang for 13 mos, living with 18 of the gangmembers in one house. After successful prosecuting several of them, he was sent to Mexico for 4 mos to "debrief" and then went full time as a realtor. The guy has his own website and is an excellent speaker.
