So this movie really does exist

This movie's existence is shown in The Fighter which came out in December 2010. It's a true story, taking place in 1993, about a scrappy, underdog boxer who ends up winning some in the end. Mark Wahlberg plays the character. Anyways, Wahlberg's character has just badly lost in a fight, and he's back in his hometown, his loss is known and he's ashamed. But he's obligated to take Amy Adams' character on a date. So to take her out and avoid embarrassment, they go to the upscale part of town where they don't know anybody. There is a theater playing Belle Epoque, and Wahlberg tells Adams that he heard this movie was really good, pronouncing it as "Bell E-POE-Q". The next scene shows the audience watching and Wahlberg's character fallen asleep out of boredom.

Please edit your post so you don't spoil the end of the movie (it's a true story sure, you can guess the ending if you don't know it, yeah, but some people I'm sure would prefer not to know in advance).

He's not spoiling the ending. This happens 30 mins into the film.
