I watched this movie just to see Penelope Cruz but was surprised that it was actually a witty and funny movie. I am skeptical of foreign films because half the time I don't get it. But this time, it was my hormones that attracted to see it, and I got an entertaining story instead.
Mind you, I think Adriana Gil is my new favorite Spanish diva.

shareYes, it's all those things and that's what makes this such a good movie; it works on a lot of levels. It has a lot to say about the Republic period in Spain right before the Civil War; it was a very interesting period. Maybe this film will make some want to learn more about this period or about Spain in general.
