Bonnie Hunt with a teenager...

Bonnie Hunt was 31 when she played the mother Alice in this movie. I noticed how young she looked here, and that's why--she was in her early 30's at the time. Alice's oldest daughter Ryce was 14, which would mean she was a teen mother. That seems unlikely and was definitely never mentioned in either of the Beethoven movies.

Also, if it's true that Charles Grodin was born in 1935, then he and Hunt are literally 27 years apart in age...which blows me away, because they totally don't look that far apart in this film. No way does Grodin look 57 years old here. Is that correct that he was that old??

The actor's age isn't important. Look at all of the teen shows on American TV were the actors are in their 20's. Since it was never addressed in the film, we should just assume that Alice is older then Bonnie.

Yeah, that makes sense. Alice could have easily been passed off as being in her mid-30's or so. But man, Charles Grodin sure did look young.

Women having kids in their late teens/early 20s isn't unheard of.

reply

A person in their late teens/early 20's raising kids is not uncommon. And RIP Grodin.
