Why did Emily not speak up about Beethoven saving her from drowning?

Saving your 4 year old daughter from drowning is a good reason to not get rid of Beethoven.

As is the case with most parents of young children, they wouldn't have believed her.

But she did credit Beethoven for saving her. Even one of the parents claimed the drowning was by accident.
