Something I absolutely love about these movies...


That I feel was also taken into account for the animated series was that even though they are set in present time (early 90s), they also have architecture / design / general vibe of things from the 1930s/1940s... perhaps because this was the time Batman was created?

Yeah I think he wanted like a timeliness look to the movies. The show went off of that. I agree though, love how both the movies and show look.

That's without question a Burton thing. In his Batman films, however, this particular 1940s-inspired look and tone is more apparent than ever.

It's unquestionably always been one of my favorite aspects of these films; the look is marvelous and absolutely gives the film a timeless feel. Plus it adds to the atmosphere, which is quite comfy throughout. :)

And yes, a big part of what made the Animated Series extraordinary was this film noir vibe which Burton introduced in his films.
