was looking forward to giving BR a re-watch on Christmas eve (haven't seen it in years maybe a decade) but when it came time to watch it I realised I didn't own it! (thought I had it on DVD but when I looked for it realised id only ever had Bat89 on DVD that came free with the DVD player I got back in 2001 (plus also had TDK trilogy on DVD of course) And id only ever owned BR on VHS along with the other 3 original bat films which id given to the charity store along with all my vhs collection a good while ago). So ordered the anthology dvd cheap on ebay but it didn't arrive until January so won't bother watching it now as it just wouldn't seem right 

re-watched Gremlins late over Christmas eve/day instead..

I watched it when it came out in theaters, and that was enough for this turkey. Can't imagine rewatching it, at Christmas or any other time...

Batman Returns takes place in the bleakest December of the Burton/Schumacher Dark Knight's life thus some have gone so far to call it an Anti Christmas Film, but if we are being honest about the experience of the Holidays can it really be called that?

Furthermore, what are the Holiday's really about, might they be about something more powerful than we usually admit?

We explore this unique Holiday film with Batman, Catwoman and The Penguin.

I rewatched about half of it this Xmas, never got around to finishing due to too sleepy,busy,watching other stuff like Jurassic Dominion etc (and no point now as Xmas over). Anyway I found was enjoying alot more than previous viewings (I remember I hated it when saw it at cinema summer 92) the dark atmosphere, Michelle Pfeiffers and Walkens performances, and especially Gotham at Christmas the whole look of the city is even better than Bat89 (also been reading the Batman Noel graphic novel which I got myself for xmas probably bc i dig Returns so much now). Anyway i think I'll get the Bat Anthology bluray set cheap (currently only have it on dvd) to try BR again next xmas!
