Ending Meaning

This is one of the last posts we will be able to make on IMDb, so I want to post as much important info as possible. It's almost like learning your best friend has only less than 2 weeks to live. It's so sad!

Something that I have always wondered is what does the film's final image of Catwoman and the Bat Symbol mean?

Also we will ever get the perfect conclusion to Burton's series 25-30 years later with Keaton and Pfeiffer and the Joker's daughter as the villain to bring things full circle?

On a side note, it's so ironic how similar Penguin and Shreck are to Trump and Pence.

It will be sad to lose contact with all you guys. I can't believe the IMDB I'd doing this to us?

Anyway, what do you mean by Penguin and Shreck being similar to Trump and Pence? The Penguin is a tragic outcast and Shreck is a smart self-made man. I found this think either of them were homophobes like Pence. And in view of the Penguin's personal circumstances, I doubt he'd be against abortion.

Also, why would Trump or Pence kill the Ice Princess? She was very dumb, wasn't she? Wouldn't that make her more likely to be a Trump supporter/a Republican, rather than a liberal? 

Broncho didn't mention the IP. Who mentioned the IP? No one gives a flying flip about the IP except you.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Barbara Hale. You were great in Perry Mason. RIP William Christopher.

Has that Harvey douche got a hard on for moronic blondes with single digit IQ's?

Shrek - Trump
Penguin-Sanders

The two don't really like women. Both make disdainful comments about women. Sanders had written porn about women at one point. He was 'lurking' in the shadows of politics--until coming out when running for president--and then suddenly covered by everybody as the hot thing of the moment. He drew a lot of attention from young people as the coolest role model a young person could have (a line in the film). He got mad when people did not go along with his intended plans and promised to upend the Democratic convention--rather than run as an independent.

As for the ending scene--I think there was supposed to be a sequel with Pfeiffer and/or Keaton in it and Burton directing---but the concept fell apart. Shame too.
I would have been VERY interested in seeing it. It would have been miles better than that garbage w/ Berry

reply

LOL, Sanders does have a lot of self-righteousness and fury comparable to the Penguin when you think of it. His not running as an independent was a brief bit of humility.

reply

No. Only with the lousy Ice Princess. He's obsessed.

Penguin also was obsessed with the young campaign workers--it was made clear that he was a lech.

Selina physically halts him as catwoman when he proposes consummating their fiendish union.

reply

We need true socialism, for the masses. Which is where Sanders comes in.

Hillary was only appealing to rich elite 'liberals'. What's the point of that?

A true feminist would back a people's left-wing movement, not a corporatist one that marginalises working-class women.

He's the one with three houses--which the masses do not have. And who was able to charter the private plane to Italy for a personal meeting with the pope

Again not something commoners get to do. And even this pope is not a proponent of women's rights. Bans on reproductive health care still stand. These do impact working class women--who do not themselves have the money to go to places where it is legal.

I pretty much always interpret it to mean, Catwoman is thinking, "Rematch time!!!!"

Probably not that she particularly wants to fight Batman again but she has accepted that she's probably a villain and will definitely be defiant.

I don't know about the Joker having a daughter and becoming the villain, if that's an attempt to adapt Harley Quinn it would probably be too different.

I've got to admit, I kind of like Pence and it's too bad he sided with Trump (although he could have some positive influence).

I don't wish to sound like a grammar nazi, but please learn the proper meaning and use of irony/ironic. It's one of the most misused words in the English lexicon. It's pervasive misuse is one of my pet peeves.

Irony is the OPPOSITE of what is expected - e.g., a dwarf playing in the NBA.

Similarities between movies and real life or actors and the characters they play are NOT ironic.

Originality needs a reboot.
