Basic Instinct Remake
I hope they never remake this movie, but just for fun.... Who would you cast? After seeing Gone Girl, I can't help but think Rosamund Pike would be a great Catherine!
shareI hope they never remake this movie, but just for fun.... Who would you cast? After seeing Gone Girl, I can't help but think Rosamund Pike would be a great Catherine!
shareI do like her however I would cast Scarlett Johansson (but I wouldn't wanna see her bits) as Catherine.
As Nick I'd like to see Alex Pettyfer try and act as Michael Douglas. Or Bradley Cooper.
I would cast James Corden as Gus. But only coz I'd LOVE to see him ice picked to death in 3d.
As Dr. Elisabeth Garner Lea Michele might be interesting. Or the girl whose name I can't spell from Stoker. Mia something.
As Roxy I'd cast Emma Stone (for no other reason than I like her after Easy A). Or Zoe Saldana.
As Johnny Boz, Russel Brand, but again only to see him get shish kebab'd.
As Captain Talcot, Andrew Garfield, only coz I like him. Or Ben Feldman.
As Nilsson (the I.A. guy) Rupert Friend (love him in Homeland) or Jensen Ackles.
As Hazel Dobkins, Judi Dench? (For obvious reasons) or Helen Mirren or Nicole Kidman
As that fat guy with the glasses in the interrogation room Louis Litt from Suits
The Stephen Tobo (can't spell his name) part as the shrink Jared Padalecki (but only if he cuts his damn hair)
Also starring Jennifer Garner (because I like her), Michael Vartan (gorgeous), Kevin Weismann (doesn't get enough work)
I like your suggestions, especially Russell Brand. Curious, are you an Alias fan? The three choices at the end made me wonder. I loved that show. I'd think Jennifer Garner would be a good Dr. Garner. And she already has the name! Haha.
shareI LOVE alias. Even season 5. Can be re watched endlessly on DVD. (No blu ray yet) As much as I do LOVE Jennifer Garner I'd prefer her not to expose herself like Jeanne Tripplehorn did in the original.

what was wrong with tripplehorne exposing herself in the original?
Blake Lively as Catherine, Alexander Skarsgard as Nick.
"No one is gonna take my soul away i'm living like Targaryen"
I think that Mary Elizabeth Winstead or Eliza Dushku would be good for a remake. I can't see Alexander Skarsgard as Nick though for some reason.
shareMary or Eliza would be great, but i want someone who already is a blonde.
Margot Robbie would be great.
I think Alexander is kinda way to hot for the role, the guy above who said Bradley Cooper was right, Cooper could play the role perfectly.
"No one is gonna take my soul away i'm living like Targaryen"
Detective Nick Curran - Chris Evans
Gus - Nick Frost
Catherine Tramell - Amanda Seyfried
Dr. Beth Garner - Amy Adams
Roxy - Kirsten Dunst
Captain Talcott - Kevin Spacey
Cooper would be okay. What about John Hamm? Do you think in a remake, they would still make Nick as sexually aggressive though, especially for how he forced Beth against her will?
As for Katherine being played by a blonde actress, I am cool with that, but I cannot think of any blonde actresses I would like to see in the role, currently. My mind keeps going to Mary Elizabeth and Eliza.
What about Emily Blunt? She is not exactly blonde, but she is lighter. Or maybe Blunt could play Roxi. Amanda Seyfried and Blake Lively would be okay, I just think the other three would be better for some reason.
Also do you think they would bring back Katherine's smoking or do you think that Hollywood would be too PC for that nowadays?
As for Beth Garner, I think that Anne Hathaway or Rachel Leigh Cook would be perfect, but not sure if they would be interested in that particular role.
Nick Curran - John Hamm
Catherine Tremell - Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Emily Blunt, or Eliza Dushku
Beth Garner - Anne Hatheway or Rachel Leigh Cook
Dakota, or Elle, Fanning is blonde. But any actress who would be the Catherine Trammell the remake version would have to be comfortable getting her jugs out.
As Nick, Skylar Astin (he's already done the nudity thing in that film with Miles Teller, who was also naked) and he's so hot
As Gus, Michael Chiklis. Don't know why.
As (Elisa)Beth, Anna Kendrick, again don't know why
As Roxy, Megan Fox, insert offensive comments here
As captain talcott, Josh Charles but only coz I like him
As John Boz, Harry styles but only to see him get horribly murdered
As hazel dobkins, dame Helen Mirren
As Nielsen, Austin o'brien, but only coz I'm rewatching last action hero whilst typing this
I think Emma Watson should portray Catherine. Isn't it time she sheds her "girl-next-door" image? Wait! She did that already w/ "The Bling Ring." But, she needs to do more villainous roles!
shareEmma Watson is too skinny looking and flat chested though. At least someone like Eliza Dushku has a little more meat, or maybe I am making the meat too big of a deal?

I'd hate to see it remade because so many of the younger actors today are so annoying and not as good of actors.
shareNick Curran - Mark Wharlberg
Catherine Trammell - Rachel McAdams
Roxy - Emma Stone
Beth Garner - Emily Blunt
Gus Moran - Jack O'Connell
Nilsen - John C Reilly
Hazel Dobkins - Cher
"Your times over, *beep*. We're cummin to get ya".
I wouldn't mind seeing Mark as Nick. Just think those glutes!!!!!!!!!!
Cher? Bonkers. But inspired.
Hmm - yes, that's what I was thinking :P I think the main improvement in a BI remake would be to introduce a homoerotic element to the story, could their be a spark between Nick and Gus, perhaps ...?
As for Cher, yes - not the most obvious casting choice - but I think she could play the part very well ('you're the shooter?!'). And her ever changing hair could add to the mystery behind who the real killer is.
I really think however that Rachel McAdams would make an amazing Catherine. She practically played the part in Love Crime.
"Your times over, *beep*. We're cummin to get ya".
could their be a spark between Nick and Gus, perhaps ...?
I bet he would if they paid him enough ;) And that would put a brand new spin on his upset and Gus' murder at the end ...
"Your times over, *beep*. We're cummin to get ya".
Katherine Heigl as Dr. Garner!
