The blu-ray quality just stunned me

I didn't watch it in entirety just skipped and watched a little and was pleasantly surprised. I had a huge grin on my face. Seriously I knew that blu-ray was supposed to look much better but I didn't expect it to be THAT good. Or is this only because the movie was shot in 70mm and then scanned at 8K? Can't wait for my projector to arrive. Any experienced opinions?

It's the king of BluRay, but there are many other great looking discs. But why the heck did you skip through this film the first time watching?

Oh, I've seen the movie many times, have been a fan since 1996. I already watched it on my projector too, it's great. And Samsara too.

Aha, by "pleasantly surprised" I thought you meant the movie, not the new transfer. Because I was recently pleasantly surprised by both. :p

Did I get it correct that you are looking for standout BluRays?

No, I can't afford to collect many Blu-rays. I have only few in my collection.

I've just watched this on Blu-ray and the image quality is difficult to put into words other than to say that yes, it is absolutely stunning.

This means something, this is important.
