Bad Lieutenant vs. King of New York

Both are gritty, dark, and violent classic 90s movies directed by Abel Ferrara. Which one do you love more?

As much as I loved Bad Lieutenant, King of New York was growing on me while watching it, it had a frickin' amazing supporting cast, lots more action and a really good soundtrack. However, the ending was a little bit slow and dragged on, so I'm gonna say BL is the better film, but both movies are incredible and rare. They just don't make 'em like that anymore.

I'm gonna go for Bad Lieutenant, the story really spoke to me. The LT is a really intriguing character. He gets all upset to the nun when he hears she forgives her attackers but like the day before he sexually harassed 2 girls that he pulled over for a broken taillight.
I liked King Of New York too, Christopher Walken was really good in that film.

I was passing out when you were passing out your rules

i have to vote for bad lieutenant too. king of new york is totally bad ass, and i loooove that movie, but bad lieutenant just feels more affecting.

I like the both classics and great for different reasons Bad Lieutenant is more gritty and realistic.

King of New York is a more entertaining film, and has characters who are more likable on both sides of the good and evil divide, and I think it tells a more coherent story.

Bad Lieutenant is more intense than King is, and even though it's bit over the top, Keitel's performance is pretty amazing, but outside of that it kind of lags, especially in the marginal narrative department and weaker supporting cast.

Bad Lieutenant for me, I like a good story of a guy spiraling the drain and Keitel really nailed the role...he really came off as sick and gross in this part

King of New York was very good though, nothing against it
