The freakin' sickest movie ever
This movie is twisted. It is a very bad movie, but in a special Ed Wood kind of way, and is much more interesting than Hollywood crap. It is in moments both one of the most disturbing and most inadvertantly hilarious movies I've ever seen. I saw it on the pretense that it was a gory thriller with a killer who is a Norman Bates sort. The killer in the film is actually a sick, very, very evil jerk that commits a series of the most heinous murders ever. I've read that Dennis Hopper's Frank in "Blue Velvet" is the most evil human character ever in movies, but the guy in this movie gets my vote. The murder scenes are perhaps the most disturbing I've ever seen but are bizzarely done over music that seems like it was too bad to make into a cheesy "Friday the 13th" rip-off. This movie also features cops (one of whom is from the John Woo classic "The Killer"!) who, improbably, behaviorally and in their clothes' fashions seem to have wondered off of the set "Miami Vice" or "21 Jump Street" and are frequently closer to goofy Keystone Kops than real ones. Even when the cops start brutally torturing the killer, he's such as a sadistic, repulsive bastard that you'd wish you could help them out with the torturing. It makes it much more unsettling that all of it is very closely based on real events, saying some disturbing things about human nature.
