The freakin' sickest movie ever

This movie is twisted. It is a very bad movie, but in a special Ed Wood kind of way, and is much more interesting than Hollywood crap. It is in moments both one of the most disturbing and most inadvertantly hilarious movies I've ever seen. I saw it on the pretense that it was a gory thriller with a killer who is a Norman Bates sort. The killer in the film is actually a sick, very, very evil jerk that commits a series of the most heinous murders ever. I've read that Dennis Hopper's Frank in "Blue Velvet" is the most evil human character ever in movies, but the guy in this movie gets my vote. The murder scenes are perhaps the most disturbing I've ever seen but are bizzarely done over music that seems like it was too bad to make into a cheesy "Friday the 13th" rip-off. This movie also features cops (one of whom is from the John Woo classic "The Killer"!) who, improbably, behaviorally and in their clothes' fashions seem to have wondered off of the set "Miami Vice" or "21 Jump Street" and are frequently closer to goofy Keystone Kops than real ones. Even when the cops start brutally torturing the killer, he's such as a sadistic, repulsive bastard that you'd wish you could help them out with the torturing. It makes it much more unsettling that all of it is very closely based on real events, saying some disturbing things about human nature.

"It is a very bad movie" - This part I don't agree with you.

I loved it, as I like gory movies in general. Anyways, it's not just the gore that makes this movie special, it's the whole... thing. Very good thriller, also the comedy-part (the cops) were hilarious. And most of all, Anthony Wong is so good actor, especially in this movie (as you already mentioned). If I saw him in the street I would propably take some distance. :)

day of the dead? are you serious?

if you have a gf your trying to get rid of
then show her the untold story
and tell her how cool you think it is
she will leave you

but that wont work with day of the dead

thats how you test out how sick a movie is

this wins hands down

I agree with sniper09. This movie IS hyped up when it comes to gore, though there is plenty of it. When we just speak of gore, Day Of The Dead scores higher. MUCH higher. But Untold Story has a more realistic, gritty feel to it, that makes it more uncomfortable to watch than DOTD. Its also more sadistic violent with those rape-scenes and childmurderer-scenes. DOTD is more like an entertainment-movie than this, wich doesnt make it so uncomfortable to watch no matter how gory it is...

Good film. But it haves some bad camera angles when the violence happen. They should focus on the gore, not on the persons{they do it some times}. When some of the vilence happen close up on actors face, when we should see the gory things.

That's kind of sexist, no?

Funny, but terribly sexist.

I'm a pregnant woman and my taste in movies scares most men I know, heh.

While the violence wasn't graphic, the subject matter was. The rape and the slaying of the family was horrific and realistic. Most films don't depict child murder. I can't believe what the child actors were subjected to at such a young age. The gore itself wasn't too bad, or realistic. The acting (minus the excellent lead), music, and "humor" were so cheesy I fast forwarded through most of the movie to the "good bits"

Love zactlys's take on it. I guess it's the global test for movies. "Would my girlfriend leave me if she knew I liked this movie". I bought "Salo" and my girlfriend at the time asked me to watch it without know what it was and I was like "Ummm.... babe, I don't think it's really your type of film". I said this knowing full well what her reaction towards me would be if she saw it.

Sounds like you're better off without her then, heh.

Either I am seriously jaded, or too many people have sticks up their arses. I think it's the latter.

But who knows, I've been known to scare people with my taste in movies, my philosophies on life, my poetry... heh.

On the subject of Salo, I enjoyed it much more than my husband did. It wasn't anything to rave about, but it was interesting from a political standpoint.

Totally agree. I've had to ween my boyfriend into watching some of my hard core stuff, but luckily for me he hasn't left me or judged me based on it - although there are times he things I'm a little strange :)

I loved this film. It was very well-done and Anthony Wong was superlative. By the way, my gf LOVES these types of movies. We watch them all the time...

I haven't seen this movie yet, but I have heard of it. A serial killer makes dim sum with human meat? It sounds like Psycho meets Soylent Green.

DIM SUM IS MADE OF PEOPLE! PEOPLE!

Don't try to oversimplify movies. If you do, you tend to appreciate movies less.

You've obviously never seen the real uncut version of this movie, I've seen almost everything and this is by far one of the most disturbing movies out their.

I can't even think of anything to compare it to, it's 20x more shocking than the standard movies everyone names like Men Behind the Sun or Cannibal Holocaust.
