What a Beautiful Soundtrack...

...It made me cry at the end when Takako, floated Shigeru's surfboard for the last time with their picture taped on it...Then "Silent Love" (Main Theme) came up, with scenes from the past...Wow, what a heartfelt straight to the heart film...Incredibly BEAUTIFUL.

Agreed. Felt the same way...

absolutely stunning. even though this isn't my favorite Kitano movie, the direction and soundtrack are among the most beautiful i've ever experienced. Kitano and Hisaishi deserve a cabinet full of oscars!!

It's amazing how Hisaishi keeps coming with these beautiful themes. Besides Scene at the Sea I just happened to watch Welcome to Dongmakgol too and without even knowing any better I thought to myself this got to be Joe Hisaishi. Absolutely wonderful...

Check out this site:

and click on the "Listen" right next to the Japanese Flag.

That's the song that played when Shigeru ran with his new surfboard
culminating in that scene where he and Takako met...and walked into the night.

This is my site...explore it.
There's another Hisaishi song...in the first Lounge, from Hana Bi.

enjoy and say hello in the message board : )

Yes, Joe Hisaishi soundtracks are always fantastic, and this film was no exception. It's a shame Kitano can no longer afford to hire Joe Hisaishi.
