I'm surprised they haven't done an honest trailer for Alien 3 yet

When Alien: Covenant comes out next year, I hope they do one for A3.

It's arguably difficult because some people, particularly fans of Aliens, are strong in their hate of it but some really, really like it (although they make like the insertion of parts of the assembly cut better). It has some brilliant horror in it and then they make the tone-breaking decision to have the warden hoisted through a missing ceiling panel by what looks like little more than human hands, that's announced to the viewer what's likely to happen as he rambles on with the camera ominously looking up at him. The alien cutting off a loudmouth midflow is most unlike the series. The alien series is at its best when the alien is cunning and unexpected, not the equivalent of a bore at a party doing his trick.

Alien 3 - An honest review

From the director who gave you the Vogue video.

And the Express Yourself video.

And the "We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off" video.

Comes the film where Ripley takes her hair off.

And British audiences laugh because it's the guy who does the Tetley teabags adverts who's playing the warden.

Alien 3 - Lark Tea Used To Be.

And you try to remember what you last saw Charles Dance in.

But you're now watching Alien 3 in 2016 and, with regret, it was 'Ali G In Da House'.

And you keep on getting Paul McGann mixed up with Danny Webb because it's so dark and they're so serious.

And you still don't know who's alive at the end.

Or why it'd matter when only Dillon has 'will last until the last reel' written all over him.

And you find yourself getting wood over the idea of a wood planet.
