Australian DVD layer changes

I'm watching the Australian DVD (Umbrella). At least one reviewer has complained about the awkward layer-change at the 1h:52m mark (just as Moxica walks out of the jailhouse), but did anyone else's DVD also go berserk at the 1h:34m mark, when Columbus's men are hoisting the bell and Columbus asks Moxica for his horse? Or do I just have a faulty copy?

Using a Sony DVP-NS33 made multiregion with All4One remote, I get a slight pause at 1:52:06 but nothing happens around 1:34.
