Actually, it was quite good.

It wasn't too bad. At least it never pandered to brats and was a fair prequel series to the actual films.

Years ago i was taping Robocop on ABC to get the edited version on tape and recorded an advertisment for this series. I wonder if thats worth something? I'd trade it for a hamburger right about now.

It was a fantastic coming-of-age series written by gifted writers with a love and passion of the world, its magnificent and exotic cultures, and early 20th century history. Some episodes were action-packed, some were more dramatic, but in my opinion, it was entertaining, educational and sensational. Of course, in this time of decaying artistic ingenuity, a great series like this gets cancelled while the fart-and-feces smut-writers, who have seized the television airways (those responsible for abominations like Southpark, for example), keep getting their garbage renewed. Ask a kid today who the key opponents were in the Fist World War, he’ll look at you with a blank expression on his face. But ask him to name the episode of Southpark where Cartman farted lightning, he’ll not only give you the episode’s title, he’ll also give you the air date!

Not just no, but Hell now! You never heard of it? You weren't paying attention!

This was a great adventure series! It was intelligent, it was funny, it gave bits and pieces of backstory in regards to the movies, and it was well-made! This was one of those rare shows that both kids and adults could enjoy, and both would learn something about history and historical characters. I have the whole series, more or less, and can't wait for it to be released on DVD next year (supposedly) in conjunction with the new Indiana Jones film...

ive seen all the indiana jones movies and love them, but i had never even heard of this series until today? is it any good and does anyone else know if you can get it on dvd in australia? how does it compare to the actual movies?

thanks,
dan.

Its not available on DVD anywhere sadly. It was released on VHS about five or six years ago. The episodes were variable but the money was up there on the screen and some of it was great. All filmed on location too not that Alias style "here we are in Paris, oh it looks just like LA except for one or two foreground cars" type effort.

The post you replied to just sang praises about the show. Why ask if it's any good when they answered it already? Did you even read their post?

Desperate? I loved this show back when they showed it in my country - Philippines. Too bad you never heard of it, you must be very very young then.

It's a multi-million dollar epic series filmed on location(in egypt, south africa, austria, ireland, etc etc etc) full of communist, anti-capitalist, feminism propaganda. Most people wouldn't even notice the propaganda and instead just view these ham fisted indoctrination attempts as being good and intelligent conversations. Then again most people today are incapable of even realizing why communism is the most genocidal philosophy in the history or the planet, they take it's utopianism at face value and never even examine the feasibility of it's basic tenants, such as equality. Equality does not exist, has never existed and never will exist, it hasn't even been demonstrated to be hypothetically possible for groups and individuals to be equal in economic and political terms yet there morons(leftists) are more than willing to try to implement means to accomplish this mythical state of "equality" without any concern for the destruction it causes to cultures, nations, ethnic groups, religions, and even individuals. You can't equalize something that can't be equalized, you can destroy that which is better and that is what communism in practice comes down to, destroying the best so that everyone lives in equally terrible conditions.
