Was Billy Crystal the "final guest" the last time he had a final tonight show? Crystal said during his monologue that Jay wanted him as his first and last...promise made and promise kept. Was it kept last time?

Very weird to have two final episodes to compare. How did this compare to the last? Was he this emotional last time? Was he better because he knew he had the 10pm gig? Would like to know the behind the scenes of all this

Back in May 2009 Jay was indeed much less emotional. It probably was due to the fact that he and his beloved crew at NBC were just moving timeslots to 10 PM. But this time he knew that his time as a full-time NBC employee with this crew/family truly has come to an end.

I guess Jay figured he could have Billy on his new 10pm show, so there was no reason to have him as his final guest on "TTS" in 2009.
