The only thing I think might explain that appearance is that Jay made a lot of jokes about her over the years. But, still...even Snookie would've been a better choice for that than a Kardashian.

I don't know about the others, but Oprah has always been a friend. For years when she had something to promote she would only do Jay's show and skip Letterman's entirely during her feud with him. Oprah was close to Jay. Not sure about Jim Parsons. They are on different networks but my guess is that Parsons would be familiar with Jay since they both work in Hollywood. Carol Burnett is a legend and to be honest with you it is almost like if a late night vet like Dick Cavett or Lorne Michaels came out. It would make sense. Jack Black? Hmmm, maybe he's close to Jay I'm not sure. Kim K., ugh, that was just a waste.
Yes, Carol Burnett being there was on a par with, say, if Lucille Ball were still around. TV royalty.

they are indeed, and its this kind of stupidity that think if they were standing behind the likes of tom hanks or dicaprio, that they are bigger stars then them and start to pose like everybody was out there just to see them!
