This the show with the wasps?

is this the show in one season there was an evil lady who used wasps to capture those teleporter kids?

reply

I think so. There was one season where there was deadly mosquitoes who were to be used to take over the world and one of them stung one of the kids leaving him in a coma.

Aside from the inside of the space capsule thingie (on a beach i think? - rub your hand on it to open?), the absolute only other thing I remember from this show is the very same episode - but oh, how I loved this show. I always hoped that one day I would be able to find it again; lo and behold, here i am \o/

I have been racking my brain for 5 years to remember this!!!!! i had no name for it! AMAZING!!!!! Finally I can go to my grave in peace.

lol, I know how you feel... only a couple years back did I find an older friend who remembered the title and sure enough it's the Tomorrow People.
Maybe it's my memory but didn't the show have a lot of unexplained backstory missing? Could it be in relation to the old series (beached spaceship thing) that never aired or does this completely 100% stand alone?

The 1990s version was marred by a lot of change and very quickly. In my opinion it was never given the chance to grow properly.

It started off as a feature written by Roger Price who wrote the 1970s version, he wanted to make it more like the 70s version with the 70s cast bringing in the new tomorrow people but If my memory serves me well in the end Tetra Tv wanted to start from scratch.

The feature went down quite well so The Culex Experiment was made. New writers were bought in- the two who had had previous successes with CITV including Teabag and Spatz. Tetras team and the writers made some significant changes- Kristen Ariza wanted to go to college and study medicine, so they were one principal short, they were not happy with Adam Pearce so he went into a coma. So all that were left were Kristian and Christian. They found Naomie Harris and she replaced Kristin, later Alex Milman joined the cast.

A lot of storyline were added in including background to Adams life before the tomorrow people. It was probably more programme length than anything else which lead to these things being cut out-I know for a fact a lot of it was actually shot. If they were left in it would have been a very mature show for youngsters-I was 11 when it was originally shown in the UK.

It’s a shame they did cancel the show as I can remember after The Living Stones the voiceover saying that a new tomorrow people adventure would begin in the spring and it didn’t.

This cancellation came at a time where childrens tv was changing. Kids tv now doesn’t encourage children to think for themselves. It’s a great shame because kids are missing out on a lot. My younger brother watches cartoon network but as soon as the tomorrow people dvds come out he’s straight up to watch them.

At least that’s one child saved from their brain rotting!!!

Didn't this show also have a storyline with "Triple C"?

Mal: "You only gotta scare him."
Jayne: "Pain is scary...."

TRIPPLE C! That's the Cobb's Cereal Corporation. That was from "Monsoon Man." Tripple C was the company on a check found by Megabyte that was used to pay an impersonator. Amy searched for hours to find the company, then the answer appeared before her on a box of Colonel Cobb's Corn Crinkles. Colonel Cobb wanted to destroy all the cornfields in the midwest with his weather machine (and by hijacking a satellite) so that he could monopolize the cereal industry.

I'm pretty sure it was the demon headmaster had the giant wasps, came out about the same time.

Actually, you're referring to the "School Reunion" episode of Doctor Who — a great episode, by the way. Dr Culex was the crackpot scientist who was experimenting with mosquitoes. I've spotted Jean Marsh, the actress who played Dr Culex on the Tomorrow People, in a few episodes of classic Doctor Who.
