what was the name of the show with the genetically altered dionsaurs

You mean the real life show? Sorry, but need more description. This is the only one I can think of.

It was called Extreme Dinosaurs.

There was a short lived mini-series in 1996 called "Dino-vengers Featuring Street Sharks" that was shown at that time.
