Anyone else grow up watching this?

I loved round the twist in the 90s I only really watched the earlier seasons with the old cast in it [they were awesome]. The stories were always so interesting and unbelievable that it was always must-see t.v. it's such a pitty that they don't screen the old ones, they were much better in the 90s then some of the later episodes. Anyone else agree?

Yes I was born in 86 and grew up watching the original series. I can't believe they did another one with different actors. That must of sucked!

Yes my school also had the videos haha.

I loved watching the show when i was growing up, but sadly i cant really remember much from it now. The only one i remember clearly is the one where the guys mum is a mermaid, and he is starting to turn into one too.

lol and i remember back in school, there werent too many guys who didnt have a thing for Linda Twist haha.

so other schools did that too? i know at our school they showed old eps of the show (it was around 1998ish or so so the new series were just in production at the time) and i loved the show, so i watched the new series when it came out.

I adored this show. I adored most Aussie kids' shows when I was young because they had touches of madness and awesome humour and didn't just patronise ya like our British shyte. If Round the Twist or Pugwall were on TV I'd sprint home from school like a gold medallist. Pugwall was another Aussie show about a teenager and his fledgling band, his hated younger sister 'Marmalade' and their exploits.

With your feet on the air and your head on the ground, try this sig with spinach, yeah!

Got to disagree with raf-33 to some extent. I agree that there was a lot of pap on British TV but there were a few little gems that still hold there own with pretty much anything out there for kids. Press Gang NEVER patronised the audience, and as such is still very enjoyable to watch even though I'm way too old for it now!! lol

I seem to remember Children's Ward was oretty good for being quite realistic as well (although I dont own any of them so maybe it's just rose tinted specs!)

The theme tune has become one of many repressed memories.

I'll be humming the tune and then suddenly i'll blurt out, "have you ever... ever felt like this?"

And then promptly scream

"God was a dream of good government"

It came on Fox one summer when I was 11, the episode I remember the most was the one with Santa. "Pete I wish you didn't have such a big mouth".

Yeah man I loved this show as a kid. Recently I got out all the old tapes for a nostalgic blast and it is just as brilliant (if not more so) than it used to be :D

"Have you ever, ever felt like this?Have strange things happen? Are you going round the twist?"

IN the instant that i reminisce about watching this show as a junior .. that's what i immediately blurt out.. hehe

I also watched Round the Twist in Primary School, was in grade 5 which was 1992.. I love that ABC3 are airing both the earlier and later shows.. and the fact that I can introduce this show to my 7 yr old son.

My mum is a librarian and she used to always bring the videos home for me to watch. Does anyone know why the first cast only did 13 episodes? They were the best.

I used to watch this when I was younger, I believe they used to show this in the morning before school started.

It was just time, I think. There were three years between the first series and the second airing. Think it might only have been two when it was filmed right enough. Linda from S2 mentioned it was recorded across 1991, I think but didn't air for a period due to licencing or similar reasons.

I think the S1 kids were just too old by that point and had moved on to other things.
