Real World Las Vegas (Season 12, 2002-2003)

Rebel, I am stealing your title since Idk if you are doing one for this season. Sorry.

It has been so many years since I have seen this season and watching it brought tears to my eyes. I know that many people that love TRW hated this season for what it was and how different it was. It was no longer watching seven strangers live amongst each other in a social experiment. It was no longer real life social issues being brought up. It was now personal issues, like who is sleeping with who tonight? Lol. However, I love this season so much. Its so much fun to watch, trashy fun stuff that made me realize I love both genders very much.

I missed the "realness" that previous seasons had with this one, but I was more than content watching 7 very hot people get drunk and have sex and fight everyday lol. The only negative thing about this season is that its uber mainstream success made every season after compete with it. This season MADE RW into the drunken trashy mess it became. But lets acknowledge it for being the FIRST and being one of the shows most iconic seasons and highest rated season ever.

Steven - A jackass. He seems nice at moments but in reality is a complete a-hole, and how he played Frank in the very first episode has never sat well with me. He is selfish, egotistical, and very self-entitled. His attitude when Brynn threw the fork at him, I get it, she shouldnt have, but hes such a dick that its hard to feel for him. Hes "cute" with a good smile, but I just cant stomach his attitude. Whats funny is that I remember loving him while I was younger and I cant stand him now. How the hell do you keep pushing Frank to talk to Trishelle, gassing his head up, claiming for SURE he is getting Trishelle to then make out with her, literally ON TOP of him? I just cant. Again, Brynn was wrong to put her hands on him, but the way he went about it and attempted to degrade her after non-stop was ridiculous. "Brynn, you ruined your life. I wanna hear you say it. Say you ruined your life" Jesus I want to tell him to STFU. Then when he chooses to "let her stay" he isnt letting her stay but letting "the old Steven" stay. LMFAO. I seriously cant with this moron.

Trishelle - The Real Worlds biggest vixen. I love her! I loved her while initially watching it every week as it aired and love her while watching it now. Shes sweet but not really, and I love her for it lol. She does care about others, I see it, but she cares more about herself. She tries to be herself but shes so scared to cause of what her family will think. You can see the self-cautious in her. The fact she flirted with Frank and gave him hope to then make out with Steven and *beep* him right next to Frank? Yeah, thats messed up. When Brynn and Steven got into the infamous fight, you couldnt tell if she really wanted Brynn to stay or not. You can not tell exactly where she stood and left confusion and mystery, and I appreciate that in a way. Trishelle was a big part of what made this season infamous and legendary, I cant help but love the woman. I also love how all the guys flock to her. The other girls came off so jealous of her and I loved it haha. She was awesome TV.

Alton - what a good guy. Very very sweet, very handsome, very intelligent. He was awesome and someone you could just hang out with and have a good time. I loved him all the way up to his relationship with the annoying Irulan (we will get into her soon). She messed with his head IMHO and made him a mess, otherwise he is awesome and kind and gentle. Good guy. A little homophobic, but thats life. We arent all super open minded.

Irulan - can not stand her! I always found her pretty, but other than being pretty she is annoying as hell. She always has something to say, always has to have the last word, always speaks as if she knows what shes speaking about even if she doesnt, and always plays the victim no matter what. When Arissa was in bed with Steven she goes and tells Frank who assumes they are having sex (she made it sound like that) and then when Arissa finds out and speaks to Irulan about it she makes it Franks fault they are having a fight. Ummmm, no, you are why you are having a fight. But they then gang up on Frank, of course. Then she flirts with Marc, their boss, and goes to his room, kisses him, feels up on him under the covers etc. but then when they are at work and he lets them know he doesnt want them drinking on the job etc. she gets all mad and starts doing what she does best, playing the victim, claiming he took advantage of her and molested her... I seriously cant with this woman. She also is cheating on her boyfriend back home, but then she plays victim when he gets mad. Then she locks in Alton and constantly starts fights with him etc. Its just too much. I could never deal with someone like her, ever. I would end up putting her in line real quick. Spoiled brat of a woman.

Frank - Oh I love Frank so much. Such a sweet sweet person that has a good, big heart and wants to see the best in everyone. Sadly everyone doesnt give him much to work with lol. He was done dirty by Trishelle and Steven big time, was constantly having to hear Arissa and Irulan bitch him out, and even had to deal with Alton at some point (although that time Alton had every right to be offended by Franks "black bitch" comment). Frank really was a good guy and the rest of the house thought they could treat him however the hell they wanted because of it. He was also very handsome and in amazing shape. I loved how him and Alton hit it off immediately. They did with Steven too until Steven did him dirty, but he, being the sweetheart he is, forgives Steven and makes nice with everyone. Frank used to annoy me and I was team Trishelle and Steven and would make fun of Frank when the show aired (I was a teen and a dick) but now watching it all these years later I am completely team Frank and disgusted by the way he gets spoken to at times etc. He grew from the experience for sure while people like Steven surely didnt.

Arissa - God was she annoying, but when she wanted she was a sweet sweet girl. She just had a lot of baggage she needed to deal with. But for the most part she was loud and annoying and always whining and crying, but when she was good, she was amazing and seemed very sweet and funny. I wish we saw more of her good side than her bad. She annoyed me at times though, like when Frank apologized to her for saying shes the black bitch of the show and when he wanted to hug her she didnt wanna hug so "her black bitchiness wouldnt rub off on him"... come on. He was so confused and not sure if they were really fine or not. With that said, she was herself and not some manipulative annoying bitch like Irulan.

Brynn - Oh Brynn. This girl was such a mess. She was another one that seemed so sweet deep down but she was just SO FREAKING JEALOUS. She was deathly jealous of Trishelle and it was a little much. I get that she wanted Steven for herself (I get that hes a "cute" guy but Jesus, he wasnt Brad Pitt. These girls were thirsty) and all but she was always showing jealousy of Trishelle. Everything Trishelle would say and do Brynn had a problem with. Eventually the other two joined in on the Trishelle bashing. It was a bit much. She was a cute girl, but she was nowhere near as hot as Trishelle, and she knew it, but she should have carried herself differently and acted differently. She gets better after she gets the GoGo dancing job and does her own thing a bit.

Overall the season is a great time and I love it.

PS this season was so popular and had such high ratings that 5 years later MTV did a reunion season with them that was like 6 episodes. They are still the only cast to get that.

I'm watching it for the first time and wow their boss Mark is a borderline rapist. I'm legitimately creeped out by him.

This was the season of transition, when the show became about sex and partying. Frankly, the best reality show on tv became trash.

No matter how much time goes by or how many times I watch, I still can't distinguish arissa from Irulan. But the one that had to take issue with frank and then refused to hug him was deplorable there. It proved that she had no interest in frank as a person, only that it was understood that hed not ever challenge her again.
Deep down, she knows that frank is a better person than her.

Thank you! I never could two the difference between them either. Arissa was by far the worst but I never understood Irulan's thought process. She kept getting upset that Alton would talk to other girls when she has a boyfriend back home. I enjoyed watching the whole season for the first time though; it was definitely an interesting cast.

I never had a problem telling apart Arissa from Irulan. Arissa has these big brown eyes while Irulan's eyes are thinner. Arissa has bigger cheek bones and fuller lips. I always thought Arissa was the most gorgeous out of all the girls. But all the girls were pretty.

I loved Vegas. I thought it was really interesting and real... so much drama with everyone.. Personal problems from relationships with family to partners to with each other. Hookups, baby scare, mental illness, being broke, cheating, jealousy.. this season had it all. The problem is Vegas was so hugely popular and broke rating records which in turn cause every season after Vegas to try and copy it. And it became redundant which brought down RW..
