What follows describes the sticking point that's held up the release for so long, and personally, I think it's a less than ideal compromise.
Somewhat similar to why you hear different music in shows when the DVD comes out, it's been confirmed that all the principal actors did NOT sign agreements allowing DVD releases to be part of their contracts, so in all scenes not involving Zelda Rubinstein, Don Cheadle, Leigh Taylor-Young, Roy Dotrice and Forbes Riley, any and all other actor's faces will be digitally blurred, with the speaking lines all to be dubbed by a guy named Frank.
