How old were you when this show premiered?

Seems all of us were quite young. I was 13 in 1992 and I really can't remember when that season I started watching. I had been a Tom Skerritt fan since SpaceCamp (Yes I'm dating myself..lol) and I just fell in love with it. It was the first TV drama I ever watched and I loved it. However, it's been 15 years since I've seen it and I've been addicted to the Season 1 DVDS, almost through all of them. It really brings back memories and reminds me why I loved it to begin with (although I have to laugh and think 'wow, this was pretty deep for a 13 year old..lol).

My mom actually sat down with me once to watch, she wanted to make sure I wasn't watching anything really inappropriate and it happened to be the episode when the mayor spontaneously combusted and Jill was saying "It could happen" Needless to say, mom was kinda weirded out, but let me go on watching..haha!

I was heartbroken when it ended, I cried through the whole finale. But the showe needed to end.

I was seven years old and I don't remember anything from the show other than that someone died in a dishwasher. I thought it was a man (it was actually a woman) and I did not expect that scene to be in the very first episode. I thought it came later on in the series. Despite my age, I always knew I loved the show and wanted to see it again because I am a huge fan of Kathy Baker. The woman is one helluva actress and deserved every one of those Emmys she won for Picket Fences. The entire cast of this show is perfect, though. So many fascinating characters.

I was 7 when it premiered and I didn't actually watch it during its original run, except for one time I can remember watching it with my mom. I don't remember the episode - just that I asked her what she was watching, and that she said "Picket Fences," and then I sat down with her.

Anyway I got into this show when they used to show reruns on FX back around 2000-ish. I'm so glad the 1st season is finally on DVD...I hope they come out with season 2 soon.

won't you look me in the eyes?

I was 16! I think I saw the first few episodes when the show first started but lost track of it. Then I started watching it again during the next to last season. I instantly fell in love with it again. It used to be on Friday nights and I purposely requested that night off from work, every week, just so I could watch it! LOL! I too, was bummed out when the show ended. In my opinion, it would probably still be on today, if David E. Kelley didn't leave.

LOL! I also remember it on FX! I remember they used to play the begining of the series episodes in the morning and the ending of the series episodes at night. I have all the episodes recorded on blank tape, several times over!!! LOL! I watched them over and over and the tapes are now worn out! When I watch them, I have to turn the volume all the way up and I can just barely hear it.

With all the other t.v. series out on dvd, Picket Fences was the one I wanted the most. I prayed all the time that it would be released. I went as far as writing to tvshowsondvd.com and to 20th Century Fox. I was so freakin excited when I saw on amazon.com and bestbuy.com that it was finally being released. YAY!!!! LOL! Obviously, I have the first season and can't wait for the rest.

In my opinion, every character was important to the show. My all-time favorite would have to be Douglas Wambaugh! He was just so crazy and wacky and made me laugh! I loved all the actors and actresses though! Jill and Jimmy, Kimberly, Matthew, Zachary, Maxine and Kenny, Judge Henry Bone, Douglas Wambaugh, Lydia Brock, The Frog Man, Frank the Potato Man, etc. It was just a GREAT show!!!

My favorite episodes would have to be:

1.) When Matthew hits Zachary with the car. Very powerful and emotional.
2.) When Father Barrett gets shot in the Confessional. Another emotional one.
3,) When Jill goes crazy on Zach's birthday. That was so freakin hilarious!

This was just a GREAT show and is my all-time favorite series! All the episodes were great!!!!

Come on Season 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually was 38 when the show premiered, but do to my work schedule wasn't able to watch it and then in about 1995 or so I came home from work and was flipping the channels and came upon a show that the Indians had taken over the courthouse. This caught my attention and I watched it through and was hooked ever since.
Some of the plots were weird and even silly and of course deadly serious. But it was a heck of a good show.
I got the 1st season on DVD and my wife and I finished it in a little over a weekend. She hadn't really watched it and enjoyed it very much. Or maybe she was just enjoying that I enjoyed it.
I do hope they'll release all seasons.

Wow, if it started in 1992, I was only 9. I watched the whole season 1 DVD through Blockbuster Total Access. I think I remembered one of the episodes, but that was about it. I think I watched it more in re-runs. Can't wait for the rest of the seasons!

I was 12. It was one of the first dramas that I watched religiously & it really affected me. The shows were so interesting & they were funny & poignant, and sometimes made me cry. I remember my favorite character was Waumbaugh back then, and I loved the way he interacted w/ the judge.

I just rented the entire first season, and watched them all w/ my boyfriend this weekend. He never likes to watch what I like, but he enjoyed this!!! I was surprised at how much I still enjoy the show, and that Waumbaugh is still my favorite, and I was surprised that I loved this show at such a young age. It is one of the best shows ever, and I can't wait till the other seasons are out.

I was thirteen as well. I loved the show but I haven't seen it since back then. I guess I should like it now as well, the way I remember it I see no reason why not.
