Missing this show SO MUCH

Should I rewatch?!?

reply

Yes, of course! If not from the beginning then at least from Heather Locklear's first episode as Amanda! ?

Oddly enough.... I REALLY want to watch the first season again! It really was a COMPLETLY different show

I just started rewatching the show again, but I started at the second season. I don't mind the first season; only problem is that so much time is spent on characters like Rhonda and Sandy who we never see again.

I don't blame you. Early Melrose Place had a sweet charm that was lost once the show went full on soap

I have rewatched this show numerous of times. It's worth going through the first season. I would say once Jo arrives storylines do get better. Once Heather Locklear shows up the show explodes. This was one of the best prime time soaps of all. They simply don't make them like this anymore. In the 90's Melrose Ruled the World.

I watched Melrose Place during its original run. I liked season one. Still like watching season one in reruns now. When Heather Locklear joined the cast, the show became a lot better. It was def a completely different show before Heather and the other new cast members came on. Going in that direction for this show was a great idea, in my opinion. With storylines etc. it's not a good idea for every show that started out totally different to do the same, IMO.

The issue with season one is that they basically started out writing it like Beverly Hills 90210, except that the teenagers were in their 20s, and not just in an actor way. I often see a lot of parallels between Melrose season one and 90210 season one (example: Brenda going sky-diving / Billy going bungee-jumping).

I started rewatching Melrose Place a month ago. I'm on the best season right now, season 3. Bringing Kimberly back from the dead in the end of season 2 and making her psycho really jump started this show. Melrose Place was fun for awhile with all the bed hopping Amanda was doing, but it needed excitement and that is exactly what Kimberly brought with her stories. Right now I'm on the story where Henry in the mirror is telling her to get revenge on the ones who hurt her. Even though Melrose Place is from the 90's, the rewatchability still holds up. I'm sure I'll lose interest once I get to season 6. With most of the regulars gone and the show going back to a bed hopping prime time soap, it wasn't worth watching.
