Poor Jo. What were the writers thinking? They were high.

I am rewatching season 3 for the 10th time.

We all know Jo was a tough chick with a gun. However, her image never lasted. She got with loser men one after another after she left her husband Charles. Then she got with Reed and Jess. Both creeps. In all this, Jo never used her gun. Why??? I expected Jo to run for her gun and shoot at these sobs. It is too bad. What a waste.

I always hoped that in the end, Jo and Jake would end up together. :)

She didn't have her gun on her with Reed because she had trusted him, and had no idea how awful he truly was until it was too late. After she was arrested for killing him, I'm guessing maybe her gun was confiscated, and although she was acquitted, I'm guessing she didn't want to go through with that again and didn't bother getting another gun?

No, she STILL had a gun, remember she wanted to take it when she went to go after Reed's parents to get Austin back..

Right. She still had her gun. Once Reed started to misbehave, Jo could have brought her gun on the boat.

Another instance on Jo not grabbing her gun - the Ted the Peeper episode where Jo sees a flashlight in Amanda's apartment and rushes over. In this situation it would be a given to grab the gun since for all Jo knew Amanda was in serious danger by an unknown prowler.

And don't forget Richard, who started out as a sweetie and ended up a rapist . I think Jo turned men bad who weren't bad already. Bad seed!

Jo & Jake were an amazing couple. They should've ended up together BUT her "final" guy Dominic is good too.

I agree with the OP. Jo was an amazing character who was watered down to nothing by the end of season 4. No wonder why Daphne Zuniga left. Writing for her sucked.
