This came to mind.
Taylor is a love sick puppy after Peter. Sydney was a love sick puppy after Michael.
Meagan is a prostitute. Sydney was a prostitute.
Jennifer gets a job at a strip joint. Sydney gets a job at a strip joint.
With Sydney's prostitute story line and love for Michael, the writers revisited like 2-3 times.
Unfortunately, Taylor's character remained one dimensional.
Eh, I would say if there ever was a Sydney replacement it was obviously Jennifer.

Unfortunately, the writers didnt develop the Taylor character after Kyle marriage and Peter's affair.
She was scheming like Sydney, but Sydney had more storylines.
Annoying little sister, worked in a dubious joint, had an affair with a married man... of course Sydney had more storylines - Jennifer barely lasted a season and a half, Sydney was on the show for four seasons.
But Jennifer was very much a Sydney replacement.
In Season 6 Taylor was just so unlikeable
