One of the best was TMS studios that is until they started to ask for more money thus other Japanese studios China And South Korea were being used as well as Europe

As the ninties started locations got more exotic

In 1992 when Mermaid became a TV series all the studios had a problem with color styling for some reason (there is a translucent look to the show in it's first season) Then as the series went on the color style got better BUT the animation did not Look at the shows third season as well as the Calliope Dreams ep

Much (such as MLP) is now done in Canada but again any country is fair game excepet the USA WHY/ save money

TV and film animation have way different budgets. Movies are shorter so they have more money, while TV shows have to be cheaper, and generally worse animated.
