was a couple of years ago, female soloist with a sampler (controlled by her foot?) who recorded a series of loops which were layered on top of each other to build the song.

any ideas, was quite unusual so someone may remember

I think it was probably KT Tunstall's Black Horse and the Cherry Tree, or at least that's what came to mind from that description.
