Character's fates

Was it ever explained why Sophia returned to Shady Pines once she, Rose and Blanche sold the hotel? It seems it would have been the perfect opportunity for her to go and live with Gloria, if she couldn't live with Rose and Blanche anymore or Dorothy and her new husband. It doesn't really make much sense because at the end of GG Dorothy wanted Sophia to live with her. It was Sophia's choice to live with Rose and Blanche.

Do we know what also became of Blanche and Rose? Did they continue living together or did they go their separate ways?
