I don't know what the network was thinking when they gave this piece of junk the green light for production (this is proof that network exec's use drugs). they must have thought that by using a cast full of really big name actors they could turn this into something big a nd wonderful. all I can say to that logic is this -- if you put earrings and make-up on a pig you still have a pig.
share"The Simpsons" was an immediate cashcow for Fox, so both ABC ("Capitol Critters") and CBS ("Fish Police," "Family Dog") wanted to take a ride on their coattails.
I'm the first to admit that "Fish Police" was not a great show (and personally, I think John Ritter was grossly miscast) but it certainly beats the hell out of some of the stuff MTV came up with in the late '90s ("The Brothers Grunt") and nearly every original show ever produced for Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. Matter of fact, I'd much rather see Adult Swim air this, "Capitol Critters" and "Family Dog" than their inane original programming.
