Subtitles, blu ray, and extras

In one of the posts on this board, I saw where someone said they had turned on the closed captions or subtitles. I have not found a DVD with subtitles. Is there one??
Also, I guess there is no chance of a blu-ray set?

I love this series, but cannot understand why they would not have updated the DVD sets to include more extras, subtitles, and certainly blu-ray. Perhaps there are just not enough people interested.

Well, after all these years, perhaps not. I think there are subtitles on TV, if you want to have them, with the showings on INSP. But you're right, there are none on the DVDs, and I doubt it'll ever come out in Blu-ray at this point. Even The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) was released on Blu-ray, but the reviews said the picture wasn't all that great. DQMW looks pretty darned good the way they are. My only wish is that they were filmed in widescreen. Back then, TVs weren't like that, so they're all in the 4:3 ratio.

I have the Scandinavian DVD's and they have subtitles, but only in the Scandinavian languages. Maybe that's what the other user meant?

I would love a blu-ray release. However it depends on which format the show was originally shot. Some older TV series were shot directly on video which can't be turned into high definition. But perhaps "Dr. Quinn" was originally shot on film?
