Why the nonstop music?

I really enjoy this show. As with many shows, there is continual music accompaniment even right along with the dialog which I find utterly annoying. I love Keith Morrison's deep voice and narration and don't think the show needs the added "excitement" of the cacophonous music. His voice is dramatic enough for me.
