'mrs. Ja-ner-ic?'......'no, that's Gin-er-ick!!!'

there was one ep where someone pronounced the mom's name as generic (like an off-brand ja-ner-ic product) and she corrects them and says it pronounced like gin-er-ick and i thought that was the funniest thing ever!!! now whenever my friends and i go to like walmart and we 'yell' to eachother in the health and beauty sections to get the generic brand of stuff one of us usually yells out 'IT'S GIN-ER-ICK!!!'

OT...MOM'S ACCENT: WHEN HOWIE MANDEL HAD A TALK SHOW (SOMETIME AFTER BW ENDED, AND CHERYL LADD WAS ON THE SHOW AND COMMENTED ON THE MOM'S ACCENT SOUNDED JUST LIKE HER MOM'S ACCENT...HOWIE MADE A COMMENT THAT 'YEA THAT'S ONE OF THE AREA'S HE BASED THE ACCENT ON. CHERYL LADD IS FROM SOUTH DAKOTA. I AGREE IT JUST REGIONAL...NOT ONE SPECIFIC STATE. AND YES, YOU CANT RELY ON WIKIPEDIA)

That's my soapbox...and I'm sticking to it!!!

The mispronunciation of the last name was a running gag throughout the series. Even in Bobby's fantasies, other characters would mispronounce the name and get corrected by Bobby's voice over. There was one instance where a mother told her child "Don't get too close, those are the wild Generics." Since she was talking about the whole family, she was corrected by all of them in unison!
