Does anyone have Bob episodes on tape or DVD?

I LOVED this show's first season....second season sucked, because CBS forced changes that made it awful.

But I'd love to see the first season shows again. Anyone know where I can find them?

Thanks.

Yes but unfortunately we always recorded everything on slow speed and these tapes are 14 years old now. I would love to find these on higher quality disc. Incidently, there was no second season to this series.

I only have one episode on VHS: "The Lost Episode." It had Bud Cort as the guest star. Original Air Date: 11 December 1992 (Season 1, Episode 11).

I personally didn't think it ranked near his first two shows, but it was DAMN funny and had his unmistakable charm in it, even it was a corser charm. Not having seen it in many years, there's not a lot I can recall, but there was an episode with a 'Barney-ish' character who would not get OUT of character until Bob spoke to him. 'Barney's' reaction is priceless. There was also a scene at his daughter's apartment with either a date or roommate that was very funny. Why it was funny escapes me after all these years, I just recall two people sitting down to dinner and being so amazed at what they had in common, it was a riot.

Oh man, why are so many good TV shows and movies NOT on disc? Why has TVLand gotten away from it's roots and now subjects us to stuff that isn't OLD TV? Bring back some OLD stuff like American Life Network is doing, but not doing it well enough!

Oh, sorry, I was ranting.

Bring back BOB!!!

As I recall Bob was a greeting card writer in a greeting card office...That is all I can remember. I would to see it again. Do you hear me TVLand?!

He is only working for a greeting card company in the first episode. He quits to draw a comic book called "Mad Dog" ...which he had done several years earlier for only 12 issues....in the first episode he quits to do that.

What you recall was the beginning of the doomed second season when Bob was taken out of drawing his comic book back to doing greeting cards.

From what I remember of Bob McKay's back story, he started his career with the Mad Dog comic book but, for unclear reasons (his comic was cancelled?), switched to doing greeting cards. Some years later, after pretty much being burned out on the greeting card gig, he was offered the opportunity to revive Mad Dog thus the beginning of "Bob". I agree with another poster that it was never really given a chance and it was a stupid move on the part of CBS to revamp the show by the start of the second season and pull Bob out of the comic book world and back into the greeting card game. CBS execs at the time did not have a very good track record as they had their heads shoved up their backsides. Like trying to put "The Bradys" in the same Friday night time slot "The Brady Bunch" had 20 years earlier; problem is that the former was going up against ratings monster of the time "Full House". Then there was putting "The Flash" up against the double threat of "The Cosby Show" and "The Simpsons" in the same Thursday slot. Only after fans ranted and raved that it was pushed up a half hour later. But I'm digressing here.

I just dug out some old tapes my mother recorded for me when the series was on and started to transfer them to DVD. I thought I had more, but it appears that I just have about 10 episodes, I think all from the first year.

Thats 9 more than I have. (just have #1) Are you are able to share or trade?

I don't have the show...but I have all the issues of the Mad Dog comic they put out to tie in with the show. Half is Bob's traditional style and the other half features a modern cutting edge Mad Dog.

Do you understand the words that I am saying to you?

I too would love copies of BOB. I loved this show - better than the other Bob Newhart sries.
