the girl band with the blonde frontgirl who the grungies borrow instruments from... what bands are they parodying? i can only think...sonic youth but i dont think that's quite right.

the song they played sounded a lot like Sonic Youth, but of course Sonic Youth isn't an all-girl band and they sort of looked more like Babes in Toyland. Anybody remember them? They got kicked off Lollapalooza in 93 and Tool took their place.

The song they were playing is very similar to Swimsuit Issue by Sonic Youth. They also reference the song "My friend Goo." I don't know that the all female band was referencing any one band in particular.
