Comic Con 1992 panel?

Does anyone have the story of the San Diego Comic Con 1992 panel where they debuted the panel and the fans when crazy because the episode they previewed was only "part 1" of a 2-parter? One of the cast members keeps telling this over and over but only the punchline, so I'm curious about the rest of ti for context. Is there a write-up/article about it anywhere?
