Episode Question

I have an episode question. I can't remember the title, but it inolved a husband and a wife basically killing their daughter. The husband was a high profile attorney in NYC. They had illegally adopted a daughter then later a son. The daughter went to school with a concussion and basically died because of it. It turned out she had and her mother were constantly being beaten by the husband and living in filth but in a really upscale apartment. The mother testified that she couldn't stop the beatings because she was too deep in battered women's syndrome. It was a pretty high profile case and I can't remember their last name, if anyone could help I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
