does anyone wonder what happened to alice after the dance? i got so upset when they ended the movie right there at the dance hall scene. did she ever marry sammy? does anyone have any theories about her life afterwards? i wonder if the book ends the same way.
shareI wondered that myself. For some reason, I doubt that Alice married Sammy. I think that incident where he hlaf-heartedly joined in on the teasing of Alice changed her mind forever.
I noticed she kisses him back at the end, but rather reluctantly. She loves him and he loves her, but Alice (wisely) seems to be keeping her distance at least for the time being.
