Good movie. I liked the house of the bride!

Good movie. Has its moments. I didn't like the song in the beggining of their relationship (about younger men etc.). It ruins the sweet theme of the movie.

I liked the new house of the "bride". Some people are lucky, I guess!

I just watched it again because I hadn't seen it in a long while- and I remember those big shouldered clothes and the funny shape of pumps then...I don't really like the music, some is ok, but it dates the film more than the costumes. The "oak ridge boys" makes perfect sense, but some of the in-between background music sounds like a bad sitcom from 1990. I love the long close up shots in which you watch the characters "think", at least in part because their faces are soooo pretty. And so generously lit. I know it is corny, but i like all that (over) acting, thoughts flitting across the visage... and all. I like the sex scenes being matter of fact, and I think the choices of how to photograph what seem enough. Does anyone have other favorite sex scenes in recent movies? I liked Dianne Lane in Unfaithful, but I didn't like some of the aspects of the way the movie was revealed.

If you like close ups of James Spader in his prime - and stunning Madchen Amick - then check out Dream Lover. Ebert criticized the director's constant use of close up facials,, but the characters are so attractive that I had no problems with the filming.

It’s certainly a nice house not totally lacking in personality.

Still, they had booze.

Very good movie, but I HATED that house. The early nineties constructions with rehashed Santa Fe décor. As a Realtor, it's a nightmare to try to sell a home from that period unless it's been renovated or is in a great school district.

Those people were all stinking rich. I am positive that if they were 'real', they would have remodelled, sold the house for a nice profit, and are currently living in a sweet pink stucco bungalow in Boca Raton under a spectacular palm tree.
