This film has nothing to do with Ghost. Spoilers:
Ghost is a thriller, and it's more about him than about her. TMD is Nina's film. As much as I love Alan Rickman, it's about Nina's journey. Jamie comes to help her, but the focus is on her, not him.
Also, Ghost doesn't have near the subtlety of TMD. Ghost jerks our tears with a giant chain, while TMD tugs quietly without us realizing it as we grow to understand what Jamie's been up to . . .
Plus, Ghost elevates this guy to a savior for her; whereas they indicate he wasn't much there for her when he was alive, he was everything and more, a mythical being to her as a ghost. How will she ever move on, we are left asking ourselves. Because he leaves her with pretty much just "ditto" but what lesson has she learned?
In TMD, the central question is not "will Ghosty guy save the girl from the bad dude?" but "how will Sad Girl find a way to heal and move on" - a much more thoughtful question and a much more poignant answer.
So Jamie isn't some fantastic being filled with God's light being drawn up to heaven. He's a guy, in love, sacrificing hugely, and completely selflessly, to help her, by in fact being FLAWED and human, not quasi-angelic. He's not magical.
Two totally different films. DVD shouldn't say "thinking man's GHOST" because it's misleading, in addition to giving away the re-appearance of Jamie.
