historical error -- I hate when that happens

My daughter noticed a Tommy Hilfiger bag being carried on the University campus in 1983. This would not have been possible. Tommy Hilfiger Corporation wasn't founded until 1984. (wikipedia.org)

Just goes to show, those University of Virginia types are ahead of the curve. I thought they arrive in 1984, anyway? Must check that opening title.

"Burn it down, Cheech! I said burn it down! I want it to look like arson!"

What the $%*& is a Chinese Downhill?!?

This post is 4 years old. I'm over it, for the moment - I'd like to check the opening scene again to check - perhaps these students were on the cutting edge.

reply

Well, have you checked it yet?

reply

Actually, no, but I did buy the movie on Amazon (since I couldn't find it anywhere else) and I didn't notice the bag, but what I did notice was the gender roles throughout the movie. That may have been accurate and I'm SO GLAD we've moved past the "powerful woman who can only be powerful if she marries..." YUCKO!!! Well, I am glad I was able to see it again, flaws and all.

There is a physics error too. There is no way John Cusack could have kept up with James Spader on that ski slope.

I agree, but that was really a FUN scene! I'll let this one slide.
