The background music in this movie sucks so bad!

Seriously! It made my stomach churn.

You mean they could still be living in a primitive state of neurotic irresponsibility?

It is funny because I just watched this film and I was thinking about this a lot. If you had a typical action movie soundtrack, it could have reached a much bigger audience. But the DA DA DA DAA DOOO! Trumpets music is classic, "This is a kids movie" and the last 20 minutes is nothing but that. It kinda ruins the mood.

Robert Folk, the dude who wrote the famous Police Academy theme, did the music for this movie and I reckon it's one of the driving forces; it really makes the whole film tick. Any time there's action, tension or sadness, the music is really bringing the film alive through all those melodies. I like the military-esque themes for the boys, and the more ominous motif one for the bad dudes. A really classic, memorable score.

And you can deal with me; Doug Masters!

But no parts have been written for these actors; their dialogue is cobbled together out of old movies, and they invariably say whatever we would all predict a person would say in each situation, in between Robert Folk’s rum-dumma-dum military score. - Roger Ebert's review of the movie.

Ebert was a whiny hack.

Does Barry Manilow know that you raid his wardrobe?
