Similarities with Leone movie?
Tell me I'm daft but I felt,on rewatching this movie,that it bore a definite resemblance to Once Upon...America, in its themes of lost love,jealousy and revenge, and suicidal old geezers...too tenuous??
shareI' got the same idea, especially the Alice in the bathroom scene and his attempt to find his lost love again as a grown up man reminded me of "Once upon a time in America".
But the tones are very different, of course. Death is much more serious in Leone's film. In "Toto le héros" there are so many dream sequences or imagined attacks that even the real death of Alice doesn't feel quite real.
