There's Nothing Out There (1992) RIPPED OFF Scream

WOW... Just found out this movie exists today. Doesn't surprise me though.

So I know you're not saying "There's Nothing Out There(1992)" ripped off "Scream(1996)"? WOW is right...

Even if you meant it the other way around why don't you watch TNOT before coming to such blindly stupid conclusions seeing as comparing this to Scream is laughable.

Its obvious you haven't seen this movie because its about a giant mind controlling horny alien killer reptile which has nothing to do with teenagers killing each other because they like horror films.

If you had seen this movie you would know that the only small similarity is there is a guy who loves horror films and studies them. That small detail is hardly enough to call either film a ripoff of each other.

If there were a comparison it would "The Cabin in the Woods", but even that's is a stretch. Its 100 miles closer then Scream though.

Yeah, I just watched it, and it reminded me a lot of Cabin in The Woods. The wise stoner Marty and Mike were very similar in many ways, and they both take place in a cabin(house) in the woods. haha

Nothing like Scream except Randy's character is a little similar to Mike as someone who knows the rules and signs of horror movies.

Overall this felt like a long FunnyOrDie sketch, with the terrible acting, but it was fun for at least a one time watch if you love horror movies and at least like many horror comedies. I almost didn't make it past the first scene though because her acting was so awful.

Given the acclaim Scream gets and how beloved Randy is as a character it's absolutely worth mentioning that other films did it first.

It's combating ignorance and helping celebrate lesser films.

Some casual viewers have some hilarious takes. I've encountered many people who call Halloween (1978) the first slasher film, I've saw people who think The Evil Dead (1981) was the first horror comedy ever made and I even came across a guy who thought Psycho (1960) was the first horror film ever period.

For example I've seen many people who love the opening of Scream 2 (1997) and think it was such a brilliant idea yet He Knows You're Alone (1980) did it first.

People love to slam small films for ripping-off big names. You know how many times I've seen a film called a poor Alien (1979) imitation? Alien itself borrowed from other films yet no one slams it for copying ideas.

Big films get that protection buffer whilst the little ones get dragged over the coals. It's worth mentioning that There's Nothing Out There has a Randy from Scream type character.
