Video Store Actress
"There's nothing Out There" was extremely cheezy, and I actually thought about turning it off during the first scene because that actress was horrible.
Not sure if she was told to smile while she was backing up through the video store, but I think she screwed the casting guy to get that part. Sometimes one forgets that there are people out there who claim they are actors, and that's the sort of quality they can do. I mean, I quit acting because I didn't think I was good enough to make it a career, and she is in a movie? She would fail Theatre 1 class. I have seen better acting on youtube videos by children.
To me, other parts of the film was painful to sit through as someone with acting experience. Though, I do like the overall story. I just wish more of the cast took their roles seriously enough to capture the jokes better. Sure, they have to be a little cheezy, since the lines are cheezy, but they could have stayed in character and have played terrified at the same time. Mike was obviously the best at understanding his part, but even he could have done a better job.
I wouldn't mind if they tried to remake this one day since the success of Cabin In The Woods. With real actors. Even the cast of Epic Movie would be an improvement. Considering the movie made me laugh a few times, and the tropes were amusing, I give it a 6/10, and I'd consider watching it again... but I think I need to be stoned/drunk the next time around with maybe other stoned/drunk people. Then maybe we can be adventurous and watch Trolls 2 (the worst movie ever made)
