A great big mini-series

McMurtrys' stuff plays so well in mini series format, i'd love to see this as a 6 hour movie or a 12 hour limited series on HBO. Same with "The Last Picture Show". "Texasville" was excellent and underrated but the film had to leave out huge sections of the novel which were equally wonderful.

I think it would have made a much better mini series than a motion picture. Motion Pictures with subplots never play out that well in the theater (Something To Talk About, the 1995 Julia Roberts flick is a good example).
