don't get me wrong I love this film, it is about a perfect action film easily 9.5/10 if not almost a perfect 10/10 action film.

But I just watched it again after many years and scene when they are fleeing cyberdyne systems in the swat van and the chopper is pursuing them. How in the hell would the T-800 know it was the T-1000. They were not even aware he was there at that time; and the police would have been pursuing them anyway. The chopper very well could have just been the regular authorities. Pretty freaking lucky guess based on an assumption? or was there something I missed.

Maybe he did an enhanced zoom into the image of the side mirror and saw that it was the T-1000.

👮 are not allowed to fly so close and low to the freeway, they are just spotters.

A reasonable deduction from T-800, when the chopper wasn't.

Would the Terminator even really know the rules of police and their vehicles, though? Unless John put that extra bit of info into his CPU, he wouldn't know that.

Yes because helps the Terminator in tactical situations.

Knowledge of rules and laws of police conduct is useful.

It is reasonable to assume that the Terminator knows basic police tactics and laws.

As Sara said in T2 about human organs, it makes him a more efficient killer.

No. He said he said he had detailed files on Human anatomy to which Sarah responded that makes him a more efficient killer.

Right..I am sure the Terminator as MANY MANY detailed files, including police tactics and laws they have to abide by.

I find it funny you are insisting that the terminator has files on all law enforcement procedures when he comes from a future where there is no law enforcement or that Future John would have put that in there when he also didn't even bother putting in that he can't kill people.

Its pretty obvious just a glance in the mirror would've enabled the T800 to zoom in/enhance etc on the pilot or even determine the way the chopper is being flown would've indicated to the T800 it was another cyborg

That was an awesome scene btw - 'chopper coming' in!'...'its hum'
